The “near me” checklist: 15 fixes for clinics that are invisible on Google

Invisible on 'near me' searches? It's rarely one big thing — it's fifteen small ones. A working checklist to run against your clinic this week.

Invisible on "near me" searches? It is rarely one big thing. It is fifteen small ones, stacked.

Run your clinic against this list honestly — in an incognito window, on a phone, from across town. Every item is fixable, most within a week, none requiring you to touch an ad budget.

    Your profile (the storefront)

    1. Claimed and verified. Unclaimed profiles can't be managed, can't reply, and quietly collect wrong information.
    2. Primary category matches your money procedure. Generic "medical clinic" competes with everyone for nothing.
    3. Every service listed, with descriptions. Google matches searches against these. Blank services, blank relevance.
    4. Hours accurate — including holidays. "Open now" is a filter patients use constantly.
    5. Ten or more real photos, refreshed monthly. Faces, rooms, equipment. No stock.

    Your website (the evidence)

    1. A dedicated page per core treatment. One "Services" page cannot rank for eight procedures.
    2. City and neighbourhood named in titles and headings. Google should never have to guess where you practice.
    3. Name, address, phone identical everywhere. Website footer, profile, directories — character for character.
    4. Loads fast on a phone. Slow pages lose patients and rankings together.
    5. Tap-to-call number on every page. The map sends phones, not desktops.

    Your reputation (the tiebreaker)

    1. Recent reviews, not just many. A profile silent for six months looks closed.
    2. Every review answered. Publicly, briefly, and without ever confirming anyone is a patient.
    3. Review velocity is steady. A trickle every week beats a suspicious burst every quarter.
    4. Listed consistently in the directories that matter for your specialty. Each one is a citation vote for prominence.
    5. Tracking in place. If you can't see calls and direction-requests from the profile, you can't manage any of the above.

Local SEO is not a trick. It is fifteen boring things done completely, while competitors do six of them halfway.
